LED Wizard Cloak

One of my first Arduino projects was a wearable LED cloak. I created a grid of 64 LEDs driven by a Max LED driver chip. Using Arduino I created a bunch of animation sequences and used IR sensors to determine where on the cloak to play the animations. Using four 9 volt batteries it has around 3 hours of life.

I was able to milk this costume for several halloweens
